Because of these developments, certain systems benefit from the governments campaign to encourage private individuals to purchase energy efficient products for the home.
What this means to you is a V.A.T reduction of 12.5%
Through a change in the VAT Act 1994, in Statutory Instrument 2005 No. 726; that came into force on the 7th April 2005, the VAT chargeable on these items has been reduced to just 5%.

VAT on certain models is charged at just 5%
The reduced rate applies to the supply and installation of qualifying air conditioning equipment in residential accommodation or premises whose sole use is for a registered charity.
There has never been a better time to have air conditioning fitted in your home as the V.A.T reduction makes such a difference to the overall cost.
But Hurry! There is increasing speculation among business leaders that the coalition Government will announce a rise in VAT in coming weeks. (source - www.Telegraph.co.uk)
